The domain is the x value of the graph. I suggest going down the choices and finding which of them is an x value of the function...

Since there are 5 ticks and the 5th tick is 10, we can tell that each tick stands for 2 units. I would label them before we start.

Okay...

-4 cannot be an option, because the x value, -4 is on the 2nd tick mark and the function only goes to the 1st tick.

0 is an option!

5 is not.

-1 is!

4 is!

-2 is!

so we have B D E F

A die is rolled 260 times . Predict how many times it will show a 3 or a 5.
natta225 [31]
The answer is C because there is 2/6 chance of rolling a 3 or 5. 2/6 times 260 = 86.6 which rounds up to 87

Find the area under the standard normal distribution curve for the following intervals. a. Between z = 0 and z = 2.0 b. To the r
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

a) P(0

And we can use the following excel code to find the probability:

"=NORM.DIST(2,0,1,TRUE)-NORM.DIST(0,0,1,TRUE)"

P(0

b) P(Z>1.5) =1-P(Z

And we can use the following code and we got:

"=1-NORM.DIST(1.5,0,1,TRUE)"

P(Z>1.5) =1-P(Z

c) P(z

And we can use the following code and we got:

"=NORM.DIST(-1.75,0,1,TRUE)"

P(z

d) P(-2.78

And we can use the following excel code to find the probability:

"=NORM.DIST(1.66,0,1,TRUE)-NORM.DIST(-2.78,0,1,TRUE)"

P(-2.78

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Solution to the problem

Part a

We want this probability:

P(0

And we can use the following excel code to find the probability:

"=NORM.DIST(2,0,1,TRUE)-NORM.DIST(0,0,1,TRUE)"

P(0

Part b

For this case we want this probability:

P(Z>1.5)

And we can use the complement rule and we have:

P(Z>1.5) =1-P(Z

And we can use the following code and we got:

"=1-NORM.DIST(1.5,0,1,TRUE)"

P(Z>1.5) =1-P(Z

Part c

We want this probability:

P(z

And we can use the following code and we got:

"=NORM.DIST(-1.75,0,1,TRUE)"

P(z

Part d

We want this probability:

P(-2.78

And we can use the following excel code to find the probability:

"=NORM.DIST(1.66,0,1,TRUE)-NORM.DIST(-2.78,0,1,TRUE)"

P(-2.78

Liam and evan are mixing paint. Liam uses 2 quarts of yellow paint and adds 3 1/4 jars of blue paint. Evan uses 1/2 quart of yel
Alina [70]

Answer:

The required equation is given by,

2 + \frac {13x}{4} = \frac {1}{2} + \frac {11y}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, each jar of  Liam's paint contains x quarts of paint.

Then, Liam's solution contains,

2 + 3\dfrac {1}{4} \times x  quarts of paint  or,

2 + \frac {13x}{4} quarts of paint

and,

let, each jar of Evan's paint  contains, y quarts of paint.

Then, Evan's solution contains,

\frac {1}{2} + 5 \dfrac {1}{2} \times y quarts of paint or,

\frac {1}{2} + \frac {11y}{2} quarts of paint

now, according to the question,

the required equation is given by,

2 + \frac {13x}{4} = \frac {1}{2} + \frac {11y}{2}
