The regular price of a baseball hat is 14.45$. If Carlos buys the baseball hat on sale for 20% off the regular price, how much c
otez555 [7]

Answer:

$8.44

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the 20%

x/14.45=20/100

14.45×20=289

289÷100=2.89

We then subtract 2.89 from 14.45 to get the selling price.

14.45-2.89=11.56

$11.56 is the price of the baseball hat on sale.

To get the change

20-11.56=8.44

$8.44 is the change

What is the remainder when the polynomial 6x2+11x−3 is divided by 2x−1?
o-na [289]

Answer: 4

There are three different ways to find the remainder.  Since I don't know which lesson you are working on, I will show you all three methods.

<u>Long Division:</u>

           <u>3x  +  7      </u>

2x - 1 ) 6x² + 11x - 3

       -  <u>(6x²  -  3x)</u>   ↓

                    14x  - 3

                -   (<u>14x  - 7)</u>

                              4

<u>Synthetic Division:</u>

2x - 1 = 0   ⇒   x = \frac{1}{2}

\frac{1}{2}   | 6      11     -3

    <u>| ↓       3     7</u>

      6      14    4

<u>Remainder Theorem:</u>

2x - 1 = 0   ⇒   x = \frac{1}{2}

f(x) = 6x² + 11x - 3

f(\frac{1}{2}) = 6(\frac{1}{2})² + 11(\frac{1}{2}) - 3

      = 6(\frac{1}{4}) + \frac{11}{2} - 3

      = \frac{3}{2} + \frac{11}{2} - \frac{6}{2}

      = \frac{8}{2}

      = 4

Solve the following:<br>a) 2(5x – 3) = 24<br>b) 5(2x + 1) = 50
likoan [24]

Answer:

x = 3 and x = \frac{9}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

2(5x - 3) = 24 ( divide both sides by 2 )

5x - 3 = 12 ( add 3 to both sides )

5x = 15 ( divide both sides by 5 )

x = 3

(b)

5(2x + 1) = 50 ( divide both sides by 5 )

2x + 1 = 10 ( subtract 1 from both sides )

2x = 9 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = \frac{9}{2}

Examine the following equation and classify the type of solution.
Viktor [21]

Answer:

<h2>infinitely many solutions</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

5x - 6 = 3x - 6 + 2x     <em>combine like terms</em>

5x - 6 = (3x + 2x) - 6

5x - 6 = 5x - 6         <em>subtract 5x from both sides</em>

-6 = -6        TRUE

Therefore the equation has infinitely many solutions.
