An arithmetic sequence always has the rule:

a(n)=a+d(n-1), a=initial term, d=common difference, n=term number

In this case, a=13 and d=9 so

a(n)=13+9n-9

a(n)=9n+4

so the first 5 terms are:

13, 22, 31, 40, 49

Vilka [71]

Answer:

Each person will be getting 2\frac{2}{5} pieces  of licorice

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have 12 pieces of licorice

To divide it equally among 5 people following formula will be used

Pieces to be given to each person = \frac{total\, pieces}{total\,people}

                                                           = =\frac{12}{5} \\2.4\\

So

Each person will be getting 2\frac{2}{5} pieces  of licorice
