 Let

point A----------------- > Bob

point B----------------- > lamppost that is to Bob left

point C----------------- > lamppost that is to Bob right

we know that

dAB=25 ft

dAC=30 ft

dBC=20 ft

see the attached figure

we use the law of cosines------------- > dBC²=dAB² +dAC² -2(dAB)(dAC)cos(alfa)

we have that

20²=25² +30² -2(25)(30)cos(alfa)-------- > cos (alfa)=(20²-(25² +30²))/(-2*25*30)

cos (alfa)=(400-(625 +900))/(-1500)= (400-(625 +900))/(-1500)=1125/1500=0.75

<span>alfa=arccos (0.75)=     41.4096 -------- > 41 °-------- > </span>∡ BAC

 the answer is 41 °

Draw a diagram to show the two lamp posts and Bob as shown below.

Let x = the angle formed from the lines from each lamppost to Bob.
From the Law of Cosines, obtain
20² = 25² + 30² - 2(25)(30) cos(x)
400 = 625 + 900 - 1500 cos(x)
1500 cos(x) = 625 + 900 - 400 = 1125
cos(x) = 1125/1500 = 0.75
x = cos⁻¹ (0.75) = 41.4°

Answer: 41° (nearest degree)

11.20

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply both equations by 100:

19.99=1999

8.79=879

1999-879=1120

Divide by 100:

1120/100=11.20 saved ................

Sue bought 3 t shirt for 8$ each. she paid with a $50 bill how much change should she get
muminat
Hi there!

First we need to calculate how much the 3 T-shirts cost and subtract that from the amount she paid to find the change.

First, we multiply to find the coats of the T-shirts.

3 × 8 = 24

Now, we subtract 24 from 50.

50 - 24 = 26

So, she got $26 of change.

Hope this helps!

Eric was rock climbing. At one point, he stopped and climbed straight down 2\dfrac{1}{2}2 2 1 2, start fraction, 1, divided by
podryga [215]

Answer:

Hence, Eric's elevation changed 4\frac{1}{4} meters above. So after the 2 moves, he is up by 4\frac{1}{4} meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume "negative" as climbing up and  "positive" as climbing up. Here we need to find the change in elevation.

  1. 2\frac{1}{2} meters down means -2\frac{1}{2}.
  2. 6\frac{3}{4} meters up means +6\frac{3}{4}.

Now we have:

=-2\frac{1}{2} + 6\frac{3}{4}\\\\=-\frac{5}{2} +\frac{27}{4} \\\\=\frac{-5(2)+27}{4} \\\\=\frac{-10+27}{4} \\\\=\frac{17}{4} = 4\frac{1}{4}
