Answer:

It was <u>2.00 p.m.</u> when Clara finished the hike.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Clara hiked to the top of a mountain. She started the hike at 10:30 A.M.

It took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to the top of the mountain and 45

minutes to hike back down.

Now, to find the time Clara finished the hike.

Clara started hike = 10.30 a.m.

It took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to the top of the mountain.

So, we add the 2 hours and 45 minutes to 10.30 a.m:

As, 1 hour = 60 minutes.

10.30\ a.m+2\ hours+ 30\ minutes.

=12.30\ p.m+45\ minutes

=1.15\ p.m.

Now, to add the 45 minutes he took to hike down:

1.15\ p.m+45\ minutes

=2.00\ p.m.

Therefore, it was 2.00 p.m. when Clara finished the hike.

Stels [109]

Answer:

13. c,

14. a.

Step-by-step explanation:

13.  The length of a side PQ with coordinates of

      P as (x,y)  and Q as (w,z)

       is: \sqrt{(x-w)^{2} +(y-z)^{2} }

  • so, the length of the side AB =

\sqrt{(5-5)^{2}+(-2+7)^{2} } =\sqrt{0^{2}+5^{2} } =5

  • the length of side BC =

\sqrt{(5-1)^{2}+(-7+2)^{2}  } =\sqrt{(4)^{2}+(-5)^{2}  } =\sqrt{4^{2}+5^{2}  }

  • the length of side AC=

\sqrt{(5-1)^{2} +(-2+2)^{2} } =\sqrt{4^{2} } =4

now, the easiest one will be when the vertices are on the coordinate axes.

  • so, option c will be the most appropriate one.

14. If u see the figure clearly, the lines l and FH are parallel.

the parallel postulate, i.e, the alternate interior angles will always be congruent.

  • here, the alternate interior angles are angle1 and angle4.
  • therefore to prove this step, he used parallel postulate as a reason.
  • so, the correct option is "a"

What is the value of 0.1561 rounded to the nearest tenth?
Ainat [17]

We have to round the value of 0.1561 to the nearest tenth.

The number after decimal is the number at tenth place. Consider the number to the right of the tenths place and use the number to determine if you will round up or stay the same. Notice that the number to the right of tenth place is more than or equal to 5 or less than 5. If that number is greater than or equal to 5, then the number will round up but if that number is less than 5, then the number will not round up. It will remain same.

Let us consider the given number 0.1561

The number at tenths place is 1

The number after the tenths place is 5 (which is either greater than or equal to 5)

So, the number will round up to 0.2
