The use of descriptive language allows the reader to view any and all elements added in the passage. Furthermore, the reader is able to evoke thoughts and feelings from this description, because the descriptive language used by Galarza uses so many adjectives so accurate and efficient that the feelings are evoked in an intense way. In addition, through adjectives the reader can see, hear, smell and even be tactful about everything that is being narrated, that is, the narrative becomes alive and rich with sensations.

Ernesto Galarza brings his narrative to life using descriptive language. He enables the reader to see things that are new and exciting to him in the United States. He writes, "A rope of water twisted and whirled from a brass faucet, filling the tub." Galarza uses descriptions that appeal to the senses to make his story feel real.
