Infant suckling

Infant suckling is the stimulus that is needed for continued and sustained production of breast milk. When an infant suckles, stimuli are transmitted to the mother's pituitary gland and prolactin (a hormone responsible for milk production) is released by the pituitary and this leads to the production of more milk. The more an infant suckles, the higher the prolactin level and the amount of milk produced.

Select the correct answer from each drop-down menu. Compared to its surroundings, the concentration of solutes is low inside a c
KatRina [158]

When the concentration of a certain solute is low inside the cell with respect to the cell's external environment, then the cell performs active transport of the solute from the cytoplasm with a low concentration of solute within the cell to the cell's external with a high concentration of the solute. This process of active transport requires the need of energy in the form of ATP to drive the pumps that are present on its cell membrane.

nasty-shy [4]
By using microarray technology you can calculate the ratio by analyzing the colors on the glass plate. If the ratio is greater than 1, then the gene is induced by tumor formation. Less than 1 then it is suppressed by tumor formation. If the ratio is 0, the gene is not expressed in either cell. If the ratio is = to 1, the gene is not affected.
