Explanation on how to answer:
Read the story and figure out whats missing. Without the whole story, no one can tell you what important part is missing. Find the section that that excerpt is from and see what the differences are, or post the full story.
Conflict is the base of the story. Without conflict, the story has no plot, the characters don't experience anything, and there isn't really any developments at all. As for the second question, I think that's your own opinion.

One day there was a sheep, but not some ordinary sheep. This sheep was named Barnabuss, but the special thing was that he could sing. The other sheep in it's (pack?) got jealous, and started to make plots to murder(or assassinate) him. Barnabuss had been saving lots of coins to buy a new Home. He had met with one of his friends, whom said "I'd be happy to help you Barnabuss, after all, you saved my life".
I think you get the idea of where this is going.
