Ksju [112]

Answer:

The colonists saw the model of good government as one that respected the civil, economic, political and commercial liberties of its citizens. Therefore, King George's measures to limit the freedoms of the American colonists went against this vision.  Thus, high taxes, military control, and civil and political limitations imposed by the British were frowned upon in the Thirteen Colonies.

Specifically, the Intolerable Acts were seen as the turning point that meant the development of a tyranny in the colonies, which was rejected by the colonists and ended up opting for the American Revolution.

Trade in the Colonies

The original 13 colonies were divided into the New England, Middle and Southern regions. Each one prospered by trade in the colonies. The different products used for trade in the colonies are described in this article.

Trade in the Colonies - Natural Resources and Raw Materials

Trade in the colonies was determined by the climate and also by the different types of soil. Farming was an important trade in the colonies and the choice of crops was dictated by these two critical elements. Other types of Trade in the colonies were determined by the geography - close proximity to the sea and rivers led to the development of the fishing industry. The natural resources also impacted trade in the colonies. The lush forests provided wood for various trade items, iron ore was used as a basis for trade using this material. Trade in the Colonies was made possible by the their surplus of raw materials. Refer to Colonial Times for full descriptions of each of the trades and industries of Colonial America.

Explanation:

During the decolonization of Congo, here are the five important things that occurred:

1. Prior to independence, the Congolese voted a president, Joseph Kasavubu, prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, a senate and assembly, and other postion in the Congo’s various level of government.

2. On July 5, 1960, Congolese soldiers in the Force Publique mutinied against their white Belgian commanders at the Thysville military base, agitating for higher pay and more opportunity and authority.

3. On July 11, 1960, the richer Katanga province had declared its independence from the Republic of the Congo, which was later followed in August by South Kasai province.

4. On July 13, the United Nations agreed on resolution which made the creation of an intervention force, named Organisations des Nations Unies au Congo (ONUC), and called for the withdrawal of all Belgian troops.

5. On September 5, Kasavubu dismissed Lumumba from the government. Lumumba ignored the decree and dismissed Kasavubu.

6. On September 14, 1960, in a bid to avoid civil war, Colonel Joseph Mobutu of the Congolese National Army (CNA) carried out a coup d’état and later ordered the Soviets out of the country.

It should also be noted that Patrice Lumumba was later arrested and killed, under Joseph Mobutu administration.
