The Edens Expressway affected the region by developing and high speed the settlement in Skokie Valley.

The northwest, as well as the east tollways, easied the access to different undeveloped areas like Oak Brook and Schaumburg.

Explanation:

It was built as part of the famous "Plan of Chicago" as an answer to the brand new need of urban communication by car in the earlies 1910s and 1920s. Allowing the communication of zones that weren't connected and their development. The East and West Tollways also allowed the urban access to areas like Oak Brook and Schaumburg which were undeveloped areas that thanks to the construction became developed and helped the zone achieve speed development and an increase in the quality of life of the inhabitants.
