Life tests on a helicopter rotor bearing give a population mean value of 2500 hours and a population standard deviation of 135 h

ours. IThe population is normally distributed. If the specification requires that the bearing lasts at least 2100 hours, what percent of the parts are expected to fail before the 2100 hours?. List your answer as a percentage to 2 decimal places without the % sign (X.XX)

Answer:

The percent of the parts are expected to fail before the 2100 hours is 0.15.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :Life tests on a helicopter rotor bearing give a population mean value of 2500 hours and a population standard deviation of 135 hours.

To Find : If the specification requires that the bearing lasts at least 2100 hours, what percent of the parts are expected to fail before the 2100 hours?.

Solution:

We will use z score formula

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

Mean value = \mu = 2500

Standard deviation = \sigma = 135

We are supposed to find  If the specification requires that the bearing lasts at least 2100 hours, what percent of the parts are expected to fail before the 2100 hours?

So we are supposed to find P(z<2100)

so, x = 2100

Substitute the values in the formula

z=\frac{2100-2500}{135}

z=−2.96

Now to find P(z<2100) we will use z table

At z = −2.96 the value is 0.0015

So, In percent = .0015 \times 100=0.15\%

Hence The percent of the parts are expected to fail before the 2100 hours is 0.15.

Write an equation in standard form of the line that passes through (0,5) and has the slope m=−2
Ray Of Light [21]
Y=-2x+5
The standard form is y=mx+b, since m is the slope you would put -2 in substitute for it and since (0,5) has a zero as the x and a number as the y that gives you the b which is the y-intercept.

The air distance between santa barbara and bakersfield is 85 miles a private pilot made this flight travel at an average rate of
AveGali [126]

Answer:

The flight took 34 minutes to arrive Bakersfield wich is 85 miles far from Santa Barbara, at a speed of 150 \ mi/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi

<u>Formula</u>

time=\frac{distance}{speed}

<u>Knowns</u>

speed=150\ mi/hr and distance=85\ mi

So we can apply formula time=\frac{85\ mi}{150\ mi/hr}=17/30 \ hr, then, \frac{17hr}{30} \times \frac{60min}{1hr}=34min, is the time the flight took in minutes

Which statements are true the order pair (1,2) and the system of equations?<br> y=2x+4<br> 7x-2y=3
Stolb23 [73]

Answer:

The Correct Answers are

When (1 ,2) is substituted into the first equation, the equation is true.

When (1 ,2) is substituted into the second equation, the equation is true.

When (1 ,2) is substituted into the second equation, the equation is true.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

y=2x+4 ..............Equation ( 1 )

7x-2y=3 .............Equation ( 2 )

To Show:

order pair ( 1, 2) True for Which Equation

Solution:

The Correct Statements are

When (1 ,2) is substituted into the first equation, the equation is true.

For Equation ( 1 )

Put x = 1 and y =2 in equation 1 we get

2 = -2\times 1+4

2 =2

∴ Left hand side = Right hand side

Hence True

When (1 ,2) is substituted into the second equation, the equation is true.

For Equation ( 2 )

Put x = 1 and y = 2 in equation 2 we get

7\times 1-2\times 2 =3

3=3

∴ Left hand side = Right hand side

Hence True

The ordered pair (1 , 2) is a solution to the system of linear equations.

∴ From above Both are True,

Hence True

0.8(5x+15)=2.6-(x+3)
elena55 [62]
0.8(5x + 15) = 2.6 - x + 3   Use the Distributive Property
       4x + 12 = 2.6 - x + 3   Combine like terms (2.6 and 3)
       4x + 12 = 5.6 - x         Add x to both sides
       5x + 12 = 5.6              Subtract 12 from both sides
              5x = -6.4             Divide both sides by 5
                x = -1.28
