A standard unit of measurement is something that has exactly the same size. Your location does not matter, as it is the same throughout. In the mensuration, many times we have to find the volume of a given shape. This volume can be represented with the term ‘cubic centimeter’. It is the name of a block of space i.e. a cube that is a very specific size. This cube is a perfect cube where the length, width, and height are all the same. Volume is the quantity that also represents the amount of material to be stored in a container.

Definition of Cubic Centimeter

Various units are there to give value to the volume. Thus, the cubic centimeter is the derived unit of volume. Further, it is represented by a symbol as cm3. It is the volume of a cube that has edges one centimeter in length.

We use ‘cubic centimeter’ as a unit that will measure the volume of the cube. Therefore we could use cubic centimeters to explain how much concrete material we need to fill the patio in the backyard.

Therefore we can say that a cubic centimeter takes up the same amount of space as a small cube which measures 1 cm in length on each side.

This means that a cubic centimeter is a very small unit for measurement of volume. Obviously this unit will be used to represent the storage capacity of some small container.

But, here an important question is how to measure volume? It is very much different than measuring the length of some object or the surface area of a box. To find volume, we measure the space or object from its three sides i.e. width, depth, and height. Then multiply the measurements together to get a result.

For example, we need to measure the volume of an iron box. We will find height 5 centimeters, 10 centimeters wide and 12 meters long. Therefore to find the cubic centimeters, we will multiply the three together: 5 x 10 x 12 = 600 cubic centimeters. This will give the volume of air in an empty box.

Converting Cubic Centimeters to other units

In many situations, we need to convert cubic meters to or from another unit of measurement of volume. For example, we need to convert from cubic centimeters to gallons.

Cubic Centimeters to Cubic Feet:

To convert cubic meters to cubic feet, we simply need to multiply the number of cubic meters by 0.0000353147.

Thus we need to know the cubic feet of a bookcase. As per the description, it is 0.85 cubic centimeters. To find the cubic feet, we will multiply this number by 0.0000353147. So, 0.85 × 0.0000353147 = 0.00003001749 cubic feet is the value.

Cubic Centimeters to Cubic Yards:

One cubic centimeter is equivalent to 0.00000130795 cubic yards. Thus, to convert cubic meters to cubic yards, simply multiply the number of cubic meters by 0.00000130795.

Cubic Meters

A metric unit of volume, commonly used in expressing concentrations of a chemical in a volume of air. One cubic meter equals 35.3 cubic feet or 1.3 cubic yards. One cubic meter also equals 1000 liters or one million cubic centimeters.

The length of pathway is 10 inches on map.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total distance = 350 miles

According to map,

1 inch = 35 miles

Let, x be the number of inches on map.

Therefore, using proportion;

Inch : mile :: inch : mile

1:35::x:350\\

Product of mean = Product of extreme

35*x=350*1\\35x=350\\

Dividing both sides by 35;

\frac{35x}{35}=\frac{350}{35}\\x=10

The length of pathway is 10 inches on map.

The curves y = √x and y=(2-x) and the Cartesian axes form two distinct regions in the first quadrant. Find the volumes of rotati
makkiz [27]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If you graph there would be two different regions. The first one would be

y = \sqrt{x} \,\,\,\,, 0\leq x \leq 1 \\

And the second one would be

y = 2-x \,\,\,\,\,,  1 \leq x \leq 2.

If you rotate the first region around the "y" axis you get that

{\displaystyle A_1 = 2\pi \int\limits_{0}^{1} x\sqrt{x} dx = \frac{4\pi}{5} = 2.51 }

And if you rotate the second region around the "y" axis you get that

{\displaystyle A_2 = 2\pi \int\limits_{1}^{2} x(2-x) dx = \frac{4\pi}{3} = 4.188 }

And the sum would be  2.51+4.188 = 6.698

If you revolve just the outer curve you get

If you rotate the first  region around the x axis you get that

{\displaystyle A_1 =\pi \int\limits_{0}^{1} ( \sqrt{x})^2 dx = \frac{\pi}{2} = 1.5708 }

And if you rotate the second region around the x axis you get that

{\displaystyle A_2 = \pi \int\limits_{1}^{2} (2-x)^2 dx = \frac{\pi}{3} = 1.0472 }

And the sum would be 1.5708+1.0472 = 2.618

Consider the equations y = √x and y = x^2 - 1
lord [1]
<h3>Answer:</h3>

(x, y) ≈ (1.49021612010, 1.22074408461)

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

This is best solved graphically or by some other machine method. The approximate solution (x=1.49, y=1.221) can be iterated by any of several approaches to refine the values to the ones given above. The values above were obtained using Newton's method iteration.

_____

Setting the y-values equal and squaring both sides of the equation gives ...

... √x = x² -1

... x = (x² -1)² = x⁴ -2x² +1 . . . . . square both sides

... x⁴ -2x² -x +1 = 0 . . . . . polynomial equation in standard form.

By Descarte's rule of signs, we know there are two positive real roots to this equation. From the graph, we know the other two roots are complex. The second positive real root is extraneous, corresponding to the negative branch of the square root function.

Liz flips a coin 30 times. The coin lands heads up 21 times and tails up 9 times. Complete each
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

Pr = 0.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

n = 30

H = 21

T = 9

See attachment for complete question

Required

P(H)

The question requires that we calculate the theoretical probability of landing on the head.

This means that, we have to ignore the given data, and we use the following

S =\{H,T\} --- sample space

n(S) = 2 --- sample size

n(H) = 1 --- occurrence of Head

So, the theoretical probability is:

Pr = n(H)/n(S)

Pr = 1/2

Pr = 0.50

madreJ [45]

Answer: B= A/(C+D)

Step-by-step explanation:

A = B(C+D)

Divide each side by B

A/B= C+D

Reciprocate both sides

B/A = 1/(C+D)

Now multiply each side by A

B = A/(C+D)
