Answer:  The correct option is

(B) \left(-\dfrac{9}{2},-\dfrac{41}{2}\right).

Step-by-step explanation:  We are given to solve the following system of equations by the substitution method :

8x=2y+5~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(i)\\\\3x=y+7~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(ii)

From equation (ii), we have

3x=y+7\\\\\Rightarrow y=3x-7~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(iii)

Substituting the value of y from equation (iii) in equation (i), we get

8x=2(3x-7)+5\\\\\Rightarrow 8x=6x-14+5\\\\\Rightarrow 8x-6x=-9\\\\\Rightarrow 2x=-9\\\\\Rightarrow x=-\dfrac{9}{2}.

From equation (iii), we get

y=3\times\left(-\dfrac{9}{2}\right)-7\\\\\\\Rightrarow y=-\dfrac{27}{2}-7\\\\\\\Rightarrow y=-\dfrac{41}{2}.

Thus, the required solution of the given system is (x,y)=\left(-\dfrac{9}{2},-\dfrac{41}{2}\right).

Option (B) is CORRECT.

Let

Eqn 1 be <span>8x = 2y + 5
            </span><span>
And,

</span><span>3x = y + 7
</span>therefore

Eqn 2 is <span> x= 1/3(y+7)
</span>
Sub 2 into 1 gives:

8(1/3(y+7)) = 2y + 5

8/3(y) + 56/3 = 2y + 5

2/3(y) = –41/3
2y=–41
y= –41/2

X= –9/2.

Therefore, <span>{(-9/2, -41/2)} is your solution set. As the notation is equal to (x,y)</span>

Two column proof:
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

Given : BRDG is a kite that is inscribed in a circle,

With BR = RD and BG = DG

To prove : RG is a diameter

Proof:

Since, RG is the major diagonal of the kite BRDG,

By the property of kite,

∠ RBG = ∠ RDG

Also, BRDG is a cyclic quadrilateral,

Therefore, By the property of cyclic quadrilateral,

∠ RBG + ∠ RDG = 180°

⇒ ∠ RBG + ∠ RBG = 180°

⇒ 2∠ RBG = 180°

⇒ ∠ RBG = 90°

⇒ ∠ RDG = 90°

Since, Angle subtended by a diameter or semicircle on any point of circle is right angle.

⇒ RG is the diameter of the circle.

Hence, proved.

What is the slope- intercept of (-8,8) and (1,10)
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer: the slope intercept would be 2/9

Step-by-step explanation: first, plot the points on a graph, from the first point count up to the 10 line, that would be 2 (which is the rise), then from the point you’re at (which is (-8,10)) count across till you reach the other point (you would count 9, thats the run)

so the the answer is rise/run = 2/9
