It was during the Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE) when Confucianism became the prevalent political ideology, thus Han dynasty reflect confucian values in its core structure and social order.

Confucianism was part of the Chinese social fabric and way of life; to Confucians, everyday life was the arena of religion, thus there was no separation between state, culture and religion.

Confucianism became a partner with  the autocratic Legalist state structures, thus the nature of the leaders and government was profoundly affected by Confucian values,  which revolves almost entirely around issues related to the family, morals, and the role of the good ruler.
