Answer:

42 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a parallelogram is calculated by multiplying height × base

The height given for this parallelogram is 7m and base is 6m

7×6 = 42 m^2

The parallelogram equals 42 square meters.

The area of a parallelogram is b*h. If you were stuck at the bottom then you didn’t need it in the first place. The 6m at the top is you base, and the 7m is your height. 6*7 equals 42.

If you would want a more technical reason why then you move the right triangle made from the height and put it directly across to where you put it where the other hypotenuse would be. It would then become a rectangle with length as 6 and height as 7.

Jerry has a miniature model of a boat. He knows that the boat is 3 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches long. What is the actual len
FromTheMoon [43]

Width of the miniature model = 3\frac{3}{4} inches

Length of the miniature model = 5\frac{1}{2} inches

The actual width of the boat = 15 feet

Let us find the actual length of the boat.

Write it in a proportion form.

width of model : length of model : : width of actual : length of actual

$\Rightarrow 3\frac{3}{4}:5\frac{1}{2}::15:x

$\Rightarrow\frac{15}{4}:\frac{11}{2}::15:x

$\Rightarrow\frac{\frac{15}{4}}{\frac{11}{2}} =\frac{15}{x}

Do cross multiplication.

$\Rightarrow{\frac{15}{4}x =15\times\frac{11}{2}

$\Rightarrow{\frac{15}{4}x =\frac{165}{2}

$\Rightarrow x =\frac{165}{2}\times{\frac{4}{15}

⇒ x = 22

Hence the actual length of the boat is 22 feet.

The hypotenuse of a right triangle is 10cm long. The longer leg is 2cm longer than the shorter leg. Find the side lengths of the
Crazy boy [7]
We need Pythagoras theorem here
a^2+b^2 = c^2
a, b =  legs of a right-triangle
c = length of hypotenuse

Let S=shorter leg, in cm, then longer leg=S+2 cm
use Pythagoras theorem
S^2+(S+2)^2 = (10 cm)^2
expand (S+2)^2
S^2 +   S^2+4S+4  = 100 cm^2   [collect terms and isolate]
2S^2+4S =  100-4 = 96 cm^2
simplify and form standard form of quadratic
S^2+2S-48=0
Solve by factoring
(S+8)(S-6) = 0   means (S+8)=0, S=-8
or                                   (S-6)=0, S=6
Reject nengative root, so
Shorter leg = 6 cm
Longer leg = 6+2 cm = 8 cm
Hypotenuse (given) = 10 cm
