If x²=144, then x= positive 12 and x= negative 12.

I have no idea what the '72' is doing in there.
If it means  x²=144.72 , then

     x = +/- 12.03 (rounded)

Oh wait.  Now I understand what the 72 is.  It's one of the answer choices.
Specifically, it's the customary absurd choice for students who have no clue.

I need to solve for x. The interior angles are 30 and 4x+2. The exterior angle is 8+6x.
alexira [117]

Answer:

x + y + z = 180 (this is the first equation)

w + z = 180 (this is the second equation)

Now, rewrite the second equation as z = 180 - w and substitute that for z in the first equation:

x + y + (180 - w) = 180

x + y - w = 0

x + y = w

A store sells four-packs of permanent markers in assorted colors for $3.19 per pack. All spiral-bound notebooks, whether wide-ru
diamong [38]

Answer:

D. 1.06(3.19x + 1.20y + 1.20z)

Step-by-step explanation:

Since marker packs are 3.19 each, the cost of the marker packs she buys can be represented by 3.19x.

All spiral notebooks are 1.20 each, so the cost of the wide ruled notebooks can be represented by 1.20y.

The cost of the college ruled notebooks can be represented by 1.20z.

In the expression, all of these terms have to be added together and multiplied by 1.06 to calculate the sales tax.

So, the expression will be 1.06(3.19x + 1.20y + 1.20z)
