We view other cultures as though they are wrong for not believing in what we do or practicing the same "rituals" that we do. There seems to be an "us vs them" dichotomy that has arisen from our (American? human?) inability to truly accept differences. We are viewed by other cultures as influential yet slightly xenophobic. Our inability to understand those who differ from us causes us to portray them in a negative light.
Hope this helped!

In the excerpt from the Declaration of Independence, the writer uses pathos as a rhetorical appeal. Thus, option A pathos is the rhetorical device used in the text.

What is pathos?

Pathos is one of the rhetorical appeals that are used in essays and articles to influence and convince the audience and readers by using certain terminologies that surge emotional feelings and connections.
The words tyranny, death, barbarous ages, desolation, and perfidy are used to provoke emotional appeal and thoughts in the readers. They are used deliberately in the text to evoke anger, pity, fear, and shame.
The passage does not use logos as no logical appeal is made. On the other hand, inductive and deductive logic is not rhetorical appeals.
Therefore, option A. pathos is used in the text.

D:When choosing your topic
Explanation:
Ah, dating! Symbol of love! But what is the right age to start? I strongly believe that dating should be at the age of 16 because that is a time when you are almost an adult and becoming (much) more responsible. Especially when you are having a Sweet 16.
To add on, this is also a time when you are almost done with high school, this sports a level of maturity and responsibility from a person thus giving them practice to focus on important decisions in life while still in a relationship.
However, I also believe it’s up to the parents/guardian and the person possibly looking for love. To explain, the person may not look for love for a variety of different reasons, such as sexuality, anxiety etc. Moreover, the parents/guardians may not allow dating at a specific age because of their experience, things they’ve heard, or even just being a “helicopter parent(s)”.
All in all, my position on dating age is very versatile. I believe it can be at age 16 because if the level of maturity and responsibility. On the other hand, it can be because of sexuality, anxiety or the rules parents/guardians put in place.
