S- number of pair of socks
g-number of pair of gloves

3*s+7*g=89
s+g=15     ⇒ s= 15-g

3*(15-g)+7g=89
3*15-3g+7g=89
45+4g=89
4g=89-45
4g=44
g=44/4
g=11
s=15-11
s=4

Answer:

She knit 4 pairs of socks and 11 pairs of gloves.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of pair of socks and y be the number pair of gloves she knit,

Since, she knit 15 pairs of socks and gloves,

⇒ x + y = 15 ------(1)

Also, she spent 89 hours in knitting in which she took 3 hours to knit a pair of socks and 7 hours to knit a pair of gloves,

⇒ 3x + 7y = 89 -----(2),

Equation (2) - 3 × Equation (1),

We get,

7y - 3y = 89 - 45

⇒ 4y = 44

Dividing both sides by 4,

⇒ y = 11,

From Equation (1),

x + 11 = 15

⇒ x = 15 - 11 = 4,

Hence, She knit 4 pairs of socks and 11 pairs of gloves.

Angle C is inscribed in circle O. Line AB is a diameter of circle O. What is the measure of angle B? I can't get the picture but
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the inscribed angle theorem tells us that any inscribed angle will be exactly half the measure of the central angle that subtends its arc, it follows that all inscribed angles sharing that arc will be half the measure of the same central angle. Therefore, the inscribed angles must all be congruent.

Consider a game in which a participant pays $2 to roll a die. The participant receives $3 if they roll a 1 (i.E. They go up by a
Sauron [17]

Answer:

The expected monetary value of a single roll is $1.17.

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample space of rolling a die is:

S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6}

The probability of rolling any of the six numbers is same, i.e.

P (1) = P (2) = P (3) = P (4) = P (5) = P (6) = \frac{1}{6}

The expected pay for rolling the numbers are as follows:

E (X = 1) = $3

E (X = 2) = $0

E (X = 3) = $0

E (X = 4) = $0

E (X = 5) = $0

E (X = 6) = $4

The expected value of an experiment is:

E(X)=\sum x\cdot P(X=x)

Compute the expected monetary value of a single roll as follows:

E(X)=\sum x\cdot P(X=x)\\=[E(X=1)\times \frac{1}{6}]+[E(X=2)\times \frac{1}{6}]+[E(X=3)\times \frac{1}{6}]\\+[E(X=4)\times \frac{1}{6}]+[E(X=5)\times \frac{1}{6}]+[E(X=6)\times \frac{1}{6}]\\=[3\times \frac{1}{6}]+[0\times \frac{1}{6}]+[0\times \frac{1}{6}]\\+[0\times \frac{1}{6}]+[0\times \frac{1}{6}]+[4\times \frac{1}{6}]\\=1.17

Thus, the expected monetary value of a single roll is $1.17.
