Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You are looking for the perimeter of this circle, which is also the circumference.  The circumference of a circle has a formula that is:

C = 2πr  or  C = πd

Since we are give the diameter, let's just use that formula.

C = π(3) or C = 3(3.1415) so C = 9.425 m

Which statements are true? Select all that apply.
ohaa [14]

Answer:

Two of these statements are true.

The function equals x^2 over the interval −∞ < x ≤ 0.

The function equals √x over the interval 0 ≤ x < ∞.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we look at the parent function of x^{2} we see that x^{2} function looks like a U shaped graph and in your graph we see it is the same as your graph from the interval (-∞,0).

If we look at the parent function of \sqrt{x}  we see that the

\sqrt{x} function looks like your graph from the interval (0,∞).

Suggestion:

I suggest memorizing every graph of parent functions that is introduced to you in math. This can help you visually with many problems in mathematics, and help you conceptualize material better. I also suggest looking up the definition of every word that may be unfamiliar to you like "interval" and "parent function". This will help you understand more advanced math notations and vocabulary in the future.

The formula for finding the kinetic energy, E, of an object is given below, where m represents the mass and v represents the spe
Naily [24]

The formula for the velocity, v is √2E/m

<h3>What is kinetic energy?</h3>

Kinetic energy is half the mass multiplied by the square of the speed of the object

It is written thus;

Kinetic energy = 1/ 2 × m × v²

To solve for 'v' mean that we should make 'v' the subject of formula

E = 1/ 2 mv²

E = \frac{mv^2}{2}

cross multiply

2E = mv^2

To make 'v' the subject, we have

v = \sqrt{\frac{2E}{m} }

Thus, the formula for the velocity, v is √2E/m

Suppose the survey was based on a sample of 700 companies. Find the 80% confidence interval for the proportion of all companies
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Answer:

0.61 - 1.28\sqrt{\frac{0.61(1-0.61)}{700}}=0.586

0.61 + 1.28\sqrt{\frac{0.61(1-0.61)}{700}}=0.634

The 80% confidence interval would be given by (0.586;0.634)

Step-by-step explanation:

A recent survey showed that 61% of U.S. employers were likely to require higher employee contributions for health care coverage. Suppose the survey was based on a sample of 700 companies. Find the 80% confidence interval for the proportion of all companies likely to require higher employee contributions for health care coverage.

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The population proportion have the following distribution

p \sim N(p,\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}})

Solution to the problem

In order to find the critical value we need to take in count that we are finding the interval for a proportion, so on this case we need to use the z distribution. Since our interval is at 80% of confidence, our significance level would be given by \alpha=1-0.80=0.2 and \alpha/2 =0.1. And the critical value would be given by:

z_{\alpha/2}=-1.28, z_{1-\alpha/2}=1.28

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\hat p \pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n}}

If we replace the values obtained we got:

0.61 - 1.28\sqrt{\frac{0.61(1-0.61)}{700}}=0.586

0.61 + 1.28\sqrt{\frac{0.61(1-0.61)}{700}}=0.634

The 80% confidence interval would be given by (0.586;0.634)
