Answer:

Form

Explanation:

It isn't theme. Theme is the message of a passage or text. (Not to be confused with main idea, which is the the overall point the passage or text was written. ) It isn't figurative language, because that is a whole <em>type </em>of writing structure. (For example, instead of saying, "She felt sick and dizzy," you could use figurative language and say, "Her legs felt like cooked spaghetti noodles and her stomach started doing somersaults." Heck, it's a little crazy, but it makes the writing better. Lastly, it isn't plot, since plot is pretty much what <em>happens</em> in the story. I would call it conflict, but it isn't always problems. Maybe a girl finds her long-lost father. That would be part of the plot but not conflict. (Well, I guess it <em>could</em> cause some conflict if you think about it.

So, long story short, the answer is form.

Alifa Rifaat's short story "Another Evening at the Club" paints a clear picture of  the powerless, inferior role of women in Egyptian society: the main character Samia is trapped in an arranged marriage in which she is repeatedly forced into betraying her own values and beliefs.

For example, when Bey, her husband, says to Samia "Tell people you're from the well-known Barakat family and that your father was a judge," she is obliged to lie about her own family's social status, in spite of how she was raised to be an honest person, just for the sake of making Bey look more important in the public eye.

In the end, Bey forces Samia into the ultimate act of dishonesty: protecting a lie that is causing their servant to be tortured, only to avoid his husband's embarrassment, when he says "By now the whole town knows the servant stole the ring—or would you like me to tell everyone: 'Look, folks, the fact is that the wife got a bit tiddly on a couple of sips of beer and the ring took off on its own and hid itself behind the dressing-table."

Which statement best shows a problem in Travels with Charley?
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

[S]ince my photograph was as widely distributed as my publisher could make it, I would find it impossible to move about without being recognized.

Explanation:

John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley" is a travelogue written about the road trip that the author took in 1960 with his poodle Charley. The travel diaries would narrate the author's trips around the United States, a country he's been writing most of his stories about.

The statement that shows a problem is <em>"[S]ince my photograph was as widely distributed as my publisher could make it, I would find it impossible to move about without being recognized."</em> This was because, despite his desire to openly and freely travel the country and see its sights, he can't do that as his photographs had been circulated as much as possible by his publisher. This means that being a famous writer, people are familiar with who he is, and that poses a problem for him to travel freely.

Thus, the correct answer is the second option.

Help!!! Can someone please give me a example of perception vs reality that I can draw
Ivenika [448]
Sure! How about a cat standing in front of a mirror looking at its reflection. Instead of seeing its true reflection (reality), it sees itself as a great big lion (perception).

Hope I helped!
