Advantages: I wouldn't call it an "advantage" but sometimes route learning is simply a necessity: for example when you learn irregular forms of past tense in Spanish.

I think the toxic sludge is a fine addition. If someone were to remove the toxic sludge then I sure wouldn't be happy. The toxic sludge isn't hurting anybody, why should they remove it? It's the people who are a threat to the toxic sludge, not the other way around.
