I believe that the theme that these two excerpts from Frank Kafka's Metamorphosis have in common is the sense of duty toward one's family. Gregor feels that he needs to keep his family happy and rich, and even though he is a bug at the moment, that sense of duty doesn't disappear.

Answer: the sense of duty toward one's family

Explanation: In these two excerpts of "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka, the theme that both have in common is the sense of duty toward one's family. Gregor always provided money for his family. In the first excerpt, he is proud of being able to provide a comfortable life for his family and is afraid that they may lose it now that he has become an insect. In the second excerpt, he is worried about the unpleasantness he is imposing on his family.

What happens when Jem, Scout, and Dill try to enter the Radley yard in chapter 6 of To Kill A Mockingbird
meriva
Jem and Dill want to sneak over to the Radley place and peek into one of their windows. Scout doesn't want them to do it, but Jem accuses her of being girlish, an insult she can't bear, and she goes along with it. They sneak under a wire fence and go through a gate. At the window, Scout and Jem hoist Dill up to peek in the window. Dill sees nothing, only curtains and a small faraway light. The boys want to try a back window instead, despite Scout's pleas to leave. As Jem is raising his head to look in, the shadow of a man appears and crosses over him. As soon as it's gone, the three children run as fast as they can back home, but Jem loses his pants in the gate. As they run, they hear a shotgun sound somewhere behind them.

Which statement was a common theme in works of Regionalism?
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

C. The United States consists of many diverse and intriguing local cultures.

Explanation:

Regionalism is a style or genre of writing which is similar to realism and refuses the works and ways of romanticism. It focuses instead on the local color, the setting, people, diversity, reality, the customs and dialects of a particular region, especially rural areas.

Focusing on the local style, this form of writing depicts the reality rather than work around it. It presents the true picture of the rural locality, its customs, and dialects, the landscape, and topography of that particular place which would normally be never thought of. This interest in a particular and rural setting paved a way for the writers to bring the true diversity and reality of the American nation. And a common theme was the representation of the many diverse and intriguing local cultures in the US.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.
