For these problems, there's a rule. For example, in the first problem, the answer is going to be (t+?)(t+?), and the ?s are going to multiply to get the constant and add to get the coefficient in the second term.

F(x)=log5 (2x+12)+2 yeah this ome threw me off
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

See below for a graph

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call the parent function g(x) = log₅(x), which has a vertical asymptote at x=0, and goes through the points (1, 0), (5, 1), (25, 2).

Then this function is

... f(x) = g(2(x+6)) +2

That is, the function is horizontally compressed by a factor of 2, shifted left 6 units, and shifted up 2 units. This moves the points listed above to ...

... (-5.5, 2), (-3.5, 3), (6.5, 4)

The graph shows the parent function and the listed points in blue, then the transformed function and the corresponding points in red.

Figure B is a scaled copy of Figure A. <br> What is the scale factor from Figure A to Figure B?
Free_Kalibri [48]

The scale factor to convert Figure A to B is \frac{1}{2} (0.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1; To determine the scale factor, we need to know the dimensions of the shape before scaling and its dimensions after scaling. From the given diagram, figure A has a base length of 6 units while its height is 4 units. Figure B has a base length of 3 units and a height of 2 units.

Step 2; To find the scale factor, we divide a particular dimension from figure B with the same dimension in figure A.

The base length of figure B /the base length of figure A = \frac{3}{6} = \frac{1}{2},

Similarly, the height of figure B / the height of figure A = \frac{2}{4} = \frac{1}{2}.

So by multiplying figure A with scale factor \frac{1}{2} we get figure B.
