Paco uses a spinner to select a number from 1 through 5, each with equal probability. Manu uses a different spinner to select a

number from 1 through 10, each with equal probability. What is the probability that the product of Manu's number and Paco's number is less than 30?

P1=1*1/2=1/2
P2=4/5*1/5=4/25
P3=3/5*1/5=3/25
P4=2/5*1/10=2/50
P=1/2+4/25+3/25+2/50=41/50
<span>The probability that the product of Manu's number and Paco's number is less than 30 is 41/50.</span>

The possible outcomes are; every number from 1 to 5, times every number from 1 to 10. Than makes 5 x 10 different outomes.

Then you need to take in account how many of them are smaller thatn 30. The easiest way is to count how many are greater or equal than 30. If you do that you will find 9 results greater or equal than 30: 10x5, 1x4, 10x3, 9x5, 9x4, 8x5, 8x4, 7x5, 6x5.

Then, there are 41 products that are less than 30 and the probability is 41/50= 0.82

Evaluate the expression for the given variable.<br>
Reika [66]

Answer:

8

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute x = 3 into the expression

= \frac{(9-3)^2+4}{5}

= \frac{6^2+4}{5}

= \frac{36+4}{5}

= \frac{40}{5}

= 8

Two sides of a triangle are perpendicular. If the two sides are 8cm and 6cm, calculate correct to the next degree, the smallest
Sati [7]

\boxed{Given:}

Length of the perpendicular ( opposite ) = 6 cm.

Length of the base ( adjacent ) = 8 cm.

\boxed{To\:find:}

The smallest angle of the triangle.

\boxed{Solution:}

\sf\purple{C.\:37°} ✅

\large\mathfrak{{\pmb{\underline{\red{Step-by-step\:explanation}}{\red{:}}}}}

In a right-angled triangle, if two sides are given, the measure of the unknown angle can be known.

Since the value of opposite and adjacent sides are given, we use the tangent formula.

tan θ = \frac{opposite}{adjacent}

✒ tan θ = \frac{6 \: cm}{8 \: cm}

✒ θ = {tan}^{ - 1} (0.75)

✒ θ = 36.9°

✒ θ = 37°

Now let us find the other unknown angle 'x'.

We know that,

Sum of angles of a triangle = 180°

✒ 37° + x + 90° = 180° (90° since it is a right-angled triangle)

✒ x + 127° = 180°

✒ x = 180° - 127°

✒ x = 53°

Therefore, the three angles of the triangle are 37°, 53° and 90°.

Hence, the smallest angle is 37°.
