how do you divide because i can divide short numbers that are alone but i can't divide the long one's

Dividing long ones are practically the same. take 100/5.  5 cannot go into 1 so we move to the next digit, so 10.  5 can go into 10 twice so we put a 2 there. Now we go to the next digit which is 0.  5 can go into 0 0 times.  So we put a 0 in that place holder.  So the answer is 20.  You can do the same with even bigger numbers.  Just do not overthink it.  You can do it!  Hope this helps :)
