Evan just found out he did not make the symphonic band, but was first chair trumpet in the concert band, the second level band.

At first he just wanted to quit the music program because he was so mad and disappointed. After thinking about it more, he decided staying in music was a good thing and he can learn a lot being first chair, regardless of what band. Evan just used the process of: __________

He considered giving more importance to his passion for music and not the position. He came aware after thinking of the opportunity of learning that he would have in the band that he was selected in and thus decided to pursue it.
