45* .06 = 2.7
45* .2= 9
45+2.7+9= 56.7

The total cost will be 56.70 because first you find out the sales tax and you get 2.70 and then you find the tip and you get 9. if you add 9 and 2.70 you get 11.70 which you add to 45 and get your answer of 56.70
