Find the values of x, y and lambda that satisfy the system of equations. Such systems arise in certain problems of calculus, and

lambda is called the Lagrange multiplier. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list. If there is no solution, enter NO SOLUTION.) 3x + lambda = 0 3y + lambda = 0 x + y - 6 = 0 (z, y, lambda) -

Answer:

λ =--9

x=3

y=3

Step-by-step explanation:

3x+λ=0

3y+λ=0

x+y-6=0

Taking sum of first two equations;

3x+3y+2λ=0

3(x+y)+2λ=0 ---(a)

multiply third equation by 3

3(x+y)-18=0  ----(b)

Subtracting eq a from eq b

==> 2λ+18=0

==> λ = -9

Putt this value of λ in 3x+λ=0

==> 3x-9=0

==> x=3

Again put value of λ in 3y+λ=0

==> 3y -9=0

==> y=3

Answer:

11/25

Step-by-step explanation:

You would add the black, white and red which equal 50. Next you would get 22(red) over 50 (total) 22/50 = 11/25 when you simplify

Suppose that 2 ≤ f '(x) ≤ 4 for all values of x. What are the minimum and maximum possible values of
Vesna [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

By the Mean Value Theorem, there is at least one number, c, in the interval (1,6) such that

f'(c) = [f(6) - f(1)]/ (6 - 1)

So, f(6) - f(1) = 5f'(c).

Since 2 ≤ f'(c) ≤ 4, 10 ≤ 5f'(c) ≤ 20

So, f(6) - f(1) is between 10 and 20.

Use a calculator to find the approximate value of arccos(0.67). 42.07° 33.82° 84.13° 47.93°
Solnce55 [7]
Arccos is the same thing as inverse cosine which is used when you are looking for an angle measure.  Make sure your calculator is in degree mode.  Hit 2nd button then cos and you will see this on your screen: cos ^{-1} ( and it is following the parenthesis there that you will enter your decimal.  The inverse cosine of .67 is an angle measure of 47.93°

5 (t+3)=-3.5 solve for t
Fofino [41]

Answer:

t=-3.7

Step-by-step explanation:

5 (t+3)=-3.5

solving the bracket we have;

5t+15=-3.5

collect like terms

5t=-3.5-15

5t=-18.5

divide both sides by 5;

t=-3.7
