The value of x is 10 \sqrt{3}.

Solution:

Given image is a right triangle.

Hypotenuse = 30

Part 1 = 20

Part 2 = Hypotenuse - Part 1

          = 30 - 20

Part 2 = 10

Leg = x

<u>Leg rule of geometric mean theorem:</u>

$\frac{\text { hypotenuse }}{\text { leg }}=\frac{\text{leg}}{\text { part of its leg}}

$\Rightarrow \frac{30}{x}=\frac{x}{10}

Do cross multiplication.

$\Rightarrow 30\times 10=x\times x

$\Rightarrow 300=x^2

$\Rightarrow 10^2 \times 3=x^2

Taking square root on both sides, we get

\Rightarrow 10 \sqrt{3}= x

The value of x is 10 \sqrt{3}.

X + y = 3<br> 3x + 2y = 14
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

x = 8 , y = -5

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve the following system:

{x + y = 3 | (equation 1)

3 x + 2 y = 14 | (equation 2)

Swap equation 1 with equation 2:

{3 x + 2 y = 14 | (equation 1)

x + y = 3 | (equation 2)

Subtract 1/3 × (equation 1) from equation 2:

{3 x + 2 y = 14 | (equation 1)

0 x+y/3 = -5/3 | (equation 2)

Multiply equation 2 by 3:

{3 x + 2 y = 14 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = -5 | (equation 2)

Subtract 2 × (equation 2) from equation 1:

{3 x+0 y = 24 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = -5 | (equation 2)

Divide equation 1 by 3:

{x+0 y = 8 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = -5 | (equation 2)

Collect results:

Answer: {x = 8 , y = -5

What is the value of y that satisfies the equation below 5-y/2=9
Andrew [12]
5-y/2 = 9

First, we do the inverse operation and subtract 5 from both sides.

  5 - y/2 = 9
-5            -5

-y/2 = 4

Now, we do the inverse operation ( multiply by the reciprocal)

-y/2 = 4
-y/2 * -2 = 4* -2
y= -8
y=-8

Now we have our final answer: y=-8

Check our work

5 - - 8/2= 9
5+4=9
9=9

OUR ANSWER IS CORRECT! :)

Right Triangle Proving Right Triangle congruent independent practice
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

HL = Hypotenuse & Leg of a right triangle are congruent to another right triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

To prove a triangle is congruent to another using HL, you must prove that the triangles have a corresponding 90 degree angles, corresponding congruent hypotenuse side lengths, and corresponding congruent hypotenuse legs.

The triangles here both have 90 degree angles a marked on the figure.

Two ways to Prove:

  • Reflexive property for the hypotenuse. Properties of a rectangle to prove equal legs.
  • Rotation about point M and translation
