The Crusaders did sort of innovative advances in warfare by changing their style in fighting from infantry to cavalry army, using of horses replaced the idea that foot soldiers assembled the core of a battling force, wearing helmet as one of their apparel that made of conical iron with leather attached at the back by protecting the neck and the nose at the front. The ornate helmet was materialized from the first crusade onwards was now standardized. Another factor that innovates is the shield.
