What you would first want to do is make an equation (optional)

166.25= 19(x)

then divide 166.25 by 19

and you get this:

8.75

you would have to round up though so your answer would be:

9

Another thing that is probably easier since you are in elementary school is this:

166.25 <span>÷ 19 = 8.75

round up:

9

hope this helped :)</span>

Mr Rice will need to purchase \large{\boxed{\bold{=8.75}} lengths of edging

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

The division operation is one of the basic arithmetic operations

Common signs used are \large{\boxed{:}}}   or \large{\boxed{\slash}}

The division is written by placing the numerator above the denominator with a horizontal line between them or use a slash with the numerator's position and the denominator is parallel

The division is actually an iterative subtraction operation (as many as the number of divisors)

Division is the opposite of multiplying

The general form of division can be stated by:

\large{\boxed{\bold{divident:divisor=quotient+remainder}}

example:

<h3>7: 3 = 2 + 1</h3>
  • 7 = dividend
  • 3 = divisor
  • 2 = quotient
  • 1 = remainder

The form of division can also be expressed in terms of fractions

In the number above, the form of fraction obtained is the form of mixed fractions

\displaystyle \frac{7}{3} =2\frac{1}{3}

Mixed fractions consist of integers and ordinary fractions

Division operation statement:

"7 divided by 3 equals 2 remainder 1

The edging is sold in length of 19 feet each

<h3>Asked</h3>

lengths of edging needed to be purchased

<h3>Answer</h3>

Mr Rice need purchase :

166.25 feet of edging on the flower beds : length of 19 feet each

\displaystyle 166.25\div19

=\displaystyle \frac{166.25}{19}

My name is Ann [436]

Answer: t = 3seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the zero means we will equate the function to zero and then solve, that is

-16t^{2}+ 32t + 48 = 0

by factorizing , we have

(t+1)(-16t+48) = 0

Therefore:

t = -1 or t = 3

since time can not be negative , then , t = 3 seconds

25 square yards

Step-by-step explanation:

We assume that "fits neatly" means "fills" so that the area of the painting is the same as the area of the square. Put the numbers in the formula and do the arithmetic.

Find the slope A) - 1/3 B) -3 C) 1/3 D) 3
Eddi Din [679]
Answer: Choice C) 1/3

------------------------------------------------

Explanation:

Two points on this line are (0,2) and (3,3)
Let (x1,y1) = (0,2) and (x2,y2) = (3,3)
We can use the slope formula to get

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
m = (3 - 2)/(3 - 0)
m = 1/3

which is why the answer is choice C. The slope of 1/3 means that each time you rise 1 unit, you run 3 units to the right. In other words,

rise/run = 1/3
