Typically, white people benefit from this. White Europeans invented the concept of race when they went into Africa and started splitting up tribes based on physical differences and treating the more "pure" Africans (those that fit European standards of beauty) with more respect, even going so far as to bait them into mistreating those seen as "dirty" or "savage."
