Pls help I'm stuck, I would like an explanation if possible!
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

60

Step-by-step explanation:

So they are showing you a chart in which the column y is determined by the column x, so you divide y/x in any of the rows so that you get the relation.

100/4=25 (which is the same for every row)

It works pretty much the same for the graph, but the relation is different.

Now instead of a chart you have to figure out the values of x and y by looking at the points that make up the line. For example we have a point that is in the coordinate (2, 60), and that represents that the x value is 2 and its correspondent y is 60. And to find the relation we do it as in the first step but now with 2 and 60.

60/2=30 (which is the same for every point)

Finally we just calculate the value of y both in the graph and the chart when x=12

So for the chart: 12*25= 300

And for the graph: 12*30= 360

The difference between those two is 60.

Jose walks at a rate of 4 miles per hour and runs at a rate of 8 miles per hour. Each week, his exercise program requires him to
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

Here we can use the relationship:

Distance = time*speed.

When Jose walks, his speed is 4 mph.

Then if he walks for X hours, the distance that he will travel is:

D = 4mph*X

When Jose runs, his speed is 8mph.

Then if he runs for T hours, the distance that he will travel is:

D´ = 8mph*Y

And we know that he travels in total 20 miles, then we must have that:

D + D´= 20mi

This leads to:

4mph*X + 8mph*Y = 20mi

Where X is the time that he walked, and Y is the time that he runed.

Then the equation that represents the different amounts of times that Jose runs and walks  is:

4mph*X + 8mph*Y = 20mi

Where we can not really find the solutions for Y and X, because there is only one equation and two variables.

Consider the equations: f(x)= -6x-1 and g(x) = 4x^2 Select the solution for (f+g) (x).

f(x)=-6x-1 \\ g(x)=4x^2 \\  \\ So \ : \\\boxed{ (f+g)(x)=4x^2-6x-1}

Write the equation of the line that passes through (4,8)and (4,6) write the equation in slope intercept form
Marianna [84]

Answer:

x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

If you were to plot the given points, you would quickly see that this is a vertical line where x = 4 (a visual is always a good place to start).

Vertical lines have a slope that is undefined and are written in the form of x = .

If you had plugged into the slope formula m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} } , where (x_{1}, y_{1}) is (4, 8) and (x_{2}, y_{2}) is (4,6) the result would be as follows:

m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} }

    = \frac{6 - 8}{4 - 4}

    = \frac{-2}{0}

Because you can not divide by 0, the slope is in fact undefined.
