If this is for factoring, here’s how to do it.

7. 45n^2-5

-first, ask yourself what common factor does 45n^2 and 5 have? The answer is that they’re both divisible by 5

-next you want to expand this expression by dividing 5 out and rewriting it in multiplication. If you completely remove the 5 from the expression, you have created a new and different expression (which is not the goal). And so you will have:  5(9n^2-1)

-now we have to expand 9n^2-1. We know that (a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2; once you foil and multiply the expression, you’ll notice you cancelled ab with ab. So for this problem, you need to see what will make 9 and 1 once you square them(It’s 3 and 1).

-what you should have now is 5(3n-1)(3n+1). But ways check by foiling your answer to see if you end up with the same expression.

9. 45a^3-80a

what is similar about 45a^3 and 80a?

- both divisible by 5a

5a(9a^2-16)

what do you square to get 9 and 16

- 3 and 4

5a(3a-4)(3a+4)

When it comes to bigger numbers, use the quadratic formula to find the variables that‘ll be part of your factored answers(Remember to apply the opposite sign/operation when you insert the numbers you got from the formula - because the numbers from the formula are the solutions ex. If I got 3 and -4 from the formula, my factored expression would be (X-3)(X+4))

Complete the equation of the line through [1,4] and [2,2]
son4ous [18]

First find the slope of the line so change in y over change in x so 4-2/1-2 which is 2/-1 so -2 is your slope then plug that as well as a point from above to find your y intercept so y=mx+b 2=-2(2)+ b then you have 2=-4+b then add 4 to each side and you find b is six then you make ur equation from your slope and y int(b) y=-2x+6

• Trey attended a New Year's Eve event and watched a ball drop at midnight. Prior
jekas [21]

Answer:

x=60.9°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the height of ball from the ground is 150ft

The base of the pole with the ball is 80 ft from where Trey is standing

Trey's horizontal line of sight is 6 feet above ground, then;

The height of ball from Trey's horizontal line of sight is;

150ft-6ft = 144ft

To find the angle x, assume a triangle with a base of 80 ft , a height of 144 ft and a slant height that represent the line of sight at an angle x

To get angle x , you apply the tangent of an angle formula where;

tan Ф°= length of opposite site of the angle/length of the adjacent side of the angle

tan x°= 144/80

tan x°=  1.8

x°= tan⁻(1.8)

x°=60.9°

A flagpole is at the top of a building. 300 feet from the base of the building, the angle of elevation of the top of the pole is
Grace [21]

Answer: We can use tangent here to find the length of the flagpole

First, find the length of the building + the flag pole

tan 32 = x/300

x=300tan32=187.460805573

(length of building + flagpole)

find length of building

tan 30 = x/300

x=173.205080757

subtract

187.460805573-173.205080757=14.255724816

round, length of flagpole = 14 feet
