Do you think that the Shakespeare plays that Holling reads in The Wednesday Wars are important to the story? Why or why not?
natta225 [31]

Answer:

History repeats itself, but in a better way the second time. In Macbeth, Macbeth kills the king so that he can become the new king. Although, someone then kills Macbeth so they can become king. However, because Macbeth was a horrible one, the new king strives to become a better king, and succeeds. In The Wednesday Wars. Holling was in the newspaper for being in the play with Mr.Goldman, with a shot of his embarrassing yellow tights splattered all over his school, and his sister's school. Later, after he saves his sister from being hit by a bus, there is a picture of him in the same position in the newspaper, but this time saving his sister, being heroic instead of a fairy.

Hope this helps :)

SashulF [63]
Beah and his companions experience hunger and thirst the likes of which none of them had encountered before. They scavenge abandoned farms and even stooped to assaulting a little boy who had two boiled ears of corn to himself. The boy’s parents, rather than confronting the young men, instead give them each an ear of corn; Beah assumes pity saved them from punishment. Beah feels guilty about their pillage, but accepts that they had no other option.
