Answer:

22,500 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Initial Height of the airplane = 35000 feet

Rate of descend = 2500 ft/min

This means for every minute the height of the plane is decreasing by 2500 feet.

We have to find how high above the sea level is the airplane after 5 minutes.

Since, in one minute the distance of plane is decreasing by 2500 feet, in 5 minutes the decrease in its distance would be = 2500 x 5 = 12,500 feet

Thus, after 5 minutes the height of airplane would have decreased by 12,500 feet. Since, the initial height of airplane was 35,000 feet, the new height after 5 minutes would be:

Height after 5 minutes = 35000 - 125000 = 22,500 feet

After 5 minutes, airplane is 22,500 feet above the sea level

In general. A clock that is 3 seconds slow but keeps consistent time will be more accurate than a clock that loses 1 second ever
Pani-rosa [81]
True.

If the clock loses 1 second every hour that passes then after 4 hours it will be 4 seconds off, 5 hours will be 5 seconds off, etc. It would continue and turn into minutes and hours off.
