Trade between native American communities and Europeans began in the 16th century up to the late 19th century. It was important for the creation and maintenance of trade relations with the new colonists. Besides, the native Americans helped the new settlers by teaching them skills needed for cultivating the land as well as hunting. Furthermore, the native cultures benefited from the colonists knowledge of the creation of wealth by means of capital (land), labor and entrepreneurship. In addition, they shared cultural knowledge and learnt the customs from both sides.
The new colonialism differs from the original colonialism, it tends to be mostly revolving around the economy. In the new colonialism, the more powerful nations tend to use their corporations to set them in places where they can produce with much less expenditure. They use loans to make the nations dependent on them, and also to provide them with certain things if they are not able to pay on time. They use the natural resources of the less powerful nations, manufacture them and sell them for their own profit. In general, the methods are to manage to gain economic control of a nation, and then use that in their own advantage and totally exploit the nation for their own benefit.
In a federal system there is centralized authority, while in a confederal system power is distributed equally among the states.
"It was based on one's birth date" is true about the draft lottery, although of course many considered this to be unfair as well.
