Find a fun activity, choose an activity that is developmentally appropriate (don't give an 8 year old wight lifts, bring them swimming or on a bicycle ride instead), plan ahead, provide active and safe toys make time for exercise and don't overdo it.

Some ways to get children and adolescents to participate in regular physical activity would be to vary the types of physical activity to keep them interested and motivated, keep the physical fitness fun and interesting, sign them up for different fitness programs and classes, find activities that don't make them feel like they are exercising like martial arts, rock climbing, yoga or encourage them to go bike riding or skate boarding.
