3. The author of "The Open Window" describes the fifteen-year-old niece as being "a very self-possessed young lady." In what way
ki77a [65]

Answer: Confident

Options:

Confident

Shy

Selfish

Evil

Explanation:

"My aunt will be down presently, Mr. Nuttel," said a very self-possessed young lady of fifteen; "in the meantime you must try and put up with me." Here the child's voice lost its self-possessed note and became falteringly human.

This is an expert which is showing us how and why is she described as someone who is self-possessed. Also, this is showing us how confident she is since she is saying ''you must try and put up with me''?

She is confident because she thinks that she could get trough with anything and anyone, but they cannot get trough with her. It is giving us the feeling like she is the smartest person even she is just a child.

Writing prompt: Write an argumentative essay for or against maintaining traditional coming-of-age ceremonies, such as a bar mitz
Eva8 [605]

Coming of age ceremonies must be maintained because it is an important stage in a person's life where he/she is acknowledged as an adult, self-confidence is increased, and responsibility is embraced. The transition from childhood to adulthood marks an individual's entry into the serious status of being counted as part of the backbone of the community -- someone who becomes part of the protectors and decision-makers of the group. Secondly, since the person is given a higher and more stable status, he/she becomes more confident and this affects the way he/she looks at life and his/her relationship with others. Finally, the individual accepts and performs his duties towards his/her family, his peers, and the whole society. Therefore, it is absolutely important that coming age ceremonies must be maintained.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
marshall27 [118]
The part of the excerpt that exhibits the interconnected themes of morality and mortality is: There was no fear because there was no death.

I chose the sentence because I believe that if you lived a moral life, you will not fear your mortality. Because you have live a full live according to the will of God.
