Algebra 1 solve by elimination
6x-3y=30
6x+y=18
TiliK225 [7]
Slimination

the teacher probably wants you to eliminate the x terms since there are an equal number of them

so multiply first equation by -1
-6x+3y=-30
add to second equation
6x-6x+3y+y=18-30
0x+4y=-12
4y=-12
divide by 4
y=-3
subsitute
6x+-3=18
add 3
6x=21
divide both sides by 6
x=21/6=7/2

x=7/2
y=-3

Plan A charges $20 a month with a $10 sign up fee. Plan B changes a $20 sign up fee but $15 each month.
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

X- 12 months, Y- 450 in total

Step-by-step explanation:

unsure what you would want for the answer to be but,

if plan a were to charge you for a year 20 x 12 would be 240 dollars a year + 10 would be 250 the total cost.

plan b, same thing 15 x 12 is 180 + 20 which would be 200 the total cost.

if you wanted both months added together, it would be 420 since x was 12.

and both sign up fees would be 30 dollars, if they needed a sign up fee for each month as well, it would be 360 per.

the total cost for all of plan a and b together would be 450 because you added the 30 dollar fee to the total of each plan.

P.S.- sorry if its long
