alright so you need to find the unit rate for both of these bought items.

5.25(5 1/4) pounds is equal to $2.10 if you set it into an equation

5.25x = $2.10

x represents how much is the price for one pound of banana

to find x you divide $2.10 by 5.25

you can either plug that into a calculator (.4 is the answer)

to divide a fraction

2.10 / 1 ÷ 21/4

switch the 21/4

2.10/1 ÷ 4/21

instead of using division to solve this you actually multiply!(don't ask me why)

2.10 × 4 = 8.4

21 × 1 = 21

now divide 8.4 by 21 = $0.4 for each pound of bananas

do the same on the other persons payment

3.25x = 6.5

x = 0.5

now you answer it. which one is cheaper?

5-2(4a+1)+3a=13

A= 2/3
A= -2
A= -6/5
A=2
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

                   a = -2

Simplifying 5 + -2(4a + 1) + 3a = 13 Reorder the terms: 5 + -2(1 + 4a) + 3a = 13 5 + (1 * -2 + 4a * -2) + 3a = 13 5 + (-2 + -8a) + 3a = 13 Combine like terms: 5 + -2 = 3 3 + -8a + 3a = 13 Combine like terms: -8a + 3a = -5a 3 + -5a = 13 Solving 3 + -5a = 13 Solving for variable 'a'. Move all terms containing a to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-3' to each side of the equation. 3 + -3 + -5a = 13 + -3 Combine like terms: 3 + -3 = 0 0 + -5a = 13 + -3 -5a = 13 + -3 Combine like terms: 13 + -3 = 10 -5a = 10 Divide each side by '-5'. a = -2

Which statement is true about the graph of two lines y=-6 and x=1/6
Gelneren [198K]
The graph of the line y = -6 is a horizontal line which passes through the y axis at -6. On the other hand, the graph of the equation, x = 1/6 is a vertical line that passes through the x-axis at 1/6. The intersection of these lines is at a point that is expressed as (1/6, -6).

Each tape diagram represents I whole.
Monica [59]

Hi! From what I know, your answer should be 5n = 1.75.

This is because all 5 of those n's ultimately equal the large box of 1.75 on the top. Think of it as fractions. if we replaced 1.75 with 1, those n's would each be 1/5.
