You randomly select one card from a 52 card deck find the probability of selecting a nine or a ten

Mathematics

8 0
<h3>Answer:  2/13</h3>

This is approximately equal to 0.1538

===================================

Work Shown:

There are four cards that are labeled "9" and four cards labeled "10"

This is 4+4 = 8 cards we want out of 52 total.

So, 8/52 = (2*4)/(13*4) = 2/13

------------

If you wanted, you can focus on one suit, say the suit of spades. There are two cards we want here: 9 of spades, 10 of spades. There are 13 spade cards total. So this is another way to see why the answer is 2/13.

Cars arrive at the Wendy's drive-through at a rate of 1 car every 5 minutes between the hours of 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. on Saturd
mestny [16]

Answer:

1) P(X = 8) = 0.1033

P(X = 9) = 0.0688

2) Expected number of 200 restaurants in which exactly 8 customers use the drive-through: 20.66

Expected number of 200 restaurants in which exactly 9 customers use the drive-through: 13.76

Step-by-step explanation:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the given time interval.

Question 1. Use the Poisson distribution to calculate the probability that exactly 8 cars will use the drive-through between 12:00 midnight and 12:30 AM on a Saturday night at Wendy's. Do the same for exactly 9 cars.

Cars arrive at the Wendy's drive-through at a rate of 1 car every 5 minutes between the hours of 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. on Saturday nights. This means that during 30 minutes, 6 cars expected to arrive. So \mu = 6.

P(X = 8)

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 8) = \frac{e^{-6}*(6)^{8}}{(8)!} = 0.1033

P(X = 9)

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 9) = \frac{e^{-6}*(6)^{9}}{(9)!} = 0.0688

Question 2. At how many of the 200 restaurants in the survey would you expect exactly 8 customers to use the drive-through? exactly 9 customers?

There is a 10.33 probability that 8 customers would use the drive through for each restaurant.

So of 200, the expected number is

E(X) = 200*0.1033 = 20.66

There is a 6.88 probability that 9 customers would use the drive through for each restaurant.

So of 200, the expected number is

E(X) = 200*0.0688 = 13.76

Jalen bought 4 bottles of water, 2 bags of cashews, and a fruit salad. The cost of the fruit salad was $5. This expression was
grigory [225]

Answer:

water bottles = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

4x + 2x + 5 = 25

1. you need to get rid of the five, so subtract it from both sides

4x + 2x = 20 2. based on the amount you paid you need to find two multiplication problems that will amount to $20 (4x<u>3</u>= 12 <- - water  2x<u>4</u>=8 <-- cashews)

<u>underlined </u>= cost per item

Angle QPS is an inscribed angle.  Arc QS is the intercepted arc of that angle.  The rule is that the intercepted arc is twice its angle measure.  P measures 20 degrees, so arc QS measures 40 degrees.  It just so happens that angle QTS is ALSO an inscribed angle intercepting arc QS.  So angle QTS measures the same as angle P, 20 degrees.  That's a.  For b., we already stated the rule and figured out that minor arc QS is 40 degrees.  For c., major arc QTS is 360 (the measure around the outside of a circle...EVERY circle in the world) minus the minor arc of 40.  So major arc QTS measures 360 - 40 which is 320 degrees.  There you go!
