Answer:

c)1200

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Students were packed shoulder to shoulder in a gym for a pep rally. The students were in a rectangular shaped area of 7500 ft.

To Find: If each student on average took up a circular space with a diameter of 2.5 ft what is the best estimate for the number of  students at the pep rally.

Solution:

Consider the figures attached

A student took up a circular space, if they were packed in rows each student acquired a circular space of 2.5 ft and left some unused area as given in figures

Now,

Area acquired by a student is a square of side 2.5 ft as given in figure

Area acquired by single student=(\text{length of square})^2

                                                     =2.5\times2.5

                                                     6.25\text{sq.ft}

Total number of students            =\frac{\text{total area of rectangular gym}}{\text{area acquired by single student}}

                                                     \frac{7500}{6.25}

                                                     1200

there are approximately 1200 students in gym hence option b is correct.

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve a proportion ( an equation with two equal fractions), cross multiply by  multiplying numerator and denominator of each fraction.

8/5=24/h                               8h = 5*24                    8h = 120              h=15

h/8=24/5                               5h = 8*24                    5h = 120              h= 24

h/5=24/8                               8h =5*24                     8h = 120              h=15

8/5=h/24                               5h = 8*24                    5h = 120              h=24

8/24=5/h                               8h = 24*5                    8h = 120              h = 15

5/8=h/24                               8h = 5*24                    8h =120               h = 15

h/5=8/24                             24h =5*8                      24h = 40             h = 5/3

Company ABC produces widgets. They have found that the cost, c (x), of making x widgets is a quadratic function in terms of x. T
Dahasolnce [82]

The given function  is a quadratic equation. Any quadratic equation can be written in the form :

C(x)=ax^{2}+bx+c

The given points can be taken as (2,23) ,(4,55) and(10,247)

We form three equations with the given points

For point (2,23 ) the equation is

23   = 4a + 2b + c

For point (4,55) the equation is

55 = 16a + 4b + c

For point  (10,247) the equation is:

247 = 100a+10b+c.

Solving the three equations for a,b,c we have :

32 = 12a + 2b

  16 = 6a + b

and,

 192 = 84 a + 6b

 32 = 14a + b

Solving for a,b,c we have:

a=2  b=4   c=7

The quadratic equation is c(x)=2x^{2}+4x+7.

When x=8

c(x)=2(8)^{2}+4(8)+7= 167.]

Option C. $167 is the right answer.

Solve the equation 6+(c+8)=136-(c+8)-131+7(t+2)=854(A+4)-9(A-4)=3711=7-(1-y)3+7(p-10)= -38-(5-3p)20+5(3-5A)=-5(A-6)+5
marissa [1.9K]

Let's solve the next equation:

6+(c+8)=13

We need to find the value for c, this value is correct when we replaced it with a number and the equality equation becomes true.

First, subtract both sides by 6

6-6+(c+8)=13-6c+8=7

Now, subtract both sides by 8

c+8-8=7-8c=-1

Replacing the c value to verify:

6+(-1+8)=136+7=13

The c value is correct.
