Answer:

the Earth orbits the Sun because of the pull of the Sun's gravity. This happens because the Earth has a acceleration in the direction perpendicular to the force of the Sun's pull and if the Sun weren't there, the Earth would travel in a straight line.

What arethe function of ‘slugs’ in the life cycle of cellularslime molds? Given that the slugs are aggregate bodies, what are th
katen-ka-za [31]

When the food is scarce, cellular slime molds aggregate into a mass of cells that behaves as a single unit called a slug.

What is the importance of slugs in slime molds?

 • While feeding, the cellular slime molds live as individual, singled-celled organisms. But when the food is scarce and they have to move to new places in search of food, they aggregate in groups of tens of thousands to form multicellular group called slugs.
 • In slug some of the cells contribute to a 2–3 millimeter long stalk, which dries up and dies in the process of formation.
 • In the presence of excess food, slime molds are present as independent amoeboid cells.
 • It is now observed that in the presence of a food source, some farmer amoebae stop feeding and pocket their food for movement in multicellular migration.

What pigment traps the energy?
Vadim26 [7]
The pigment that traps energy is Chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a green pigment commonly found in almost all plants, algae and cynobacteria. Leaves appear green because they contain this pigment. This pigment absorbs the light energy from the sun to complete the process of photosynthesis or food production of plants. Chlorophyll is said to absorb light in the long wavelength and blue in the short wavelength regions of the visible light spectrum. Green light is not absorbed, thus making the leaves of some plants green. Chlorophyll is found at the plant’s chloroplasts, which comes to have different structures.
