ans is D. 80 questions

explaination

there are multiple ways to solve this question.

one is simple

assume total question is x

20% of x = 16

20/100 × X = 16

solve for x and you will get 80.

another one is because 16 represents only 20% , so lets calculate how many such part required to make it 100.

100/20 = 5 times

so we need to multiply 16 with 5 which gives us 80.

take another example . if 25 % of total question is 8. then what is total no of questions.

same way

total part = 100/25 = 4 times

so 8 × 4 = 32 questions. this approach is to solve if given percentage is simple one to make quick solution.

A highway engineer knows that his crew can lay 5 miles of highway on a clear day, 2 miles on a rainy day, and only 1 mile on a s
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

Mean = 3.7

Variance = 2.61

Step-by-step explanation:

From the data given; we can represent our table into table format for easier solution and better understanding.

Given that:

A highway engineer knows that his crew can lay 5 miles of highway on a clear day, 2 miles on a rainy day, and only 1 mile on a snowy day

Let X represent the crew;

P(X) represent their respective probabilities

                   clear  day           rainy day            snowy day

X                  5                          2                           1

P(X)              0.6                       0.3                       0.1

From Above; we can determine our X*P(X) and X²P(X)

Let have the two additional columns to table ; we have

X                      P(X)                      X*P(X)                       X²P(X)

5                        0.6                          3                               15

2                        0.3                        0.6                             1.2

1                         0.1                          0.1                            0.1

Total                  1.0                        3.7                             16.3

The mean \mu can be calculated by using the formula:

\sum \limits ^n _{i=1}X_i P(X_i)

Therefore ; mean \mu = 3.7

Variance \sigma^2 = \sum \limits ^n _{i=1}X^2_i P(X_i)- \mu^2

Variance = 16.3 -3.7²

Variance = 16.3 - 13.69

Variance = 2.61

Evaluate C(8, 8).<br><br><br>0<br><br>1<br><br>n<br><br>8
kirill115 [55]

Answer: Second Option

C(8,8)=1

Step-by-step explanation:

We must calculate a combination

The combination C (n, r) =\frac{n!}{r!(n-r)!}

Where n is the number of elements that you can combine and you choose "r" from them.

So

C (8, 8) is the combination of 8 in 8.

Therefore

n = 8\\r=8

C(8,8)= \frac{8!}{8!(8-8)!}\\\\C(8,8)=\frac{8!}{8!(0)!}\\\\C(8,8)=\frac{1}{1*1}\\\\C(8,8)=1

The answer is the second option

Oksanka [162]
Distribute the fractions and combine like terms:
15y+5=4x+6
subtract 5 from both sides:
15y=4x+1
divide both sides by 15:
y=(4/15)x+1/15
