When an organism is buried under many layers of sediment, pressure and heat increase during diagenesis and if the organism lacks a hard skeleton only leaving this thin film of carbon residue on rock surfaces.

Fossils usually form when sediment buries a dead organism. As sediment piles up, the organism's remains are subjected to pressure and heat. These conditions force gases and liquids from the body. A thin film of carbon residue is left, forming a silhouette of the original organism called a carbon film.

What feature is an inlet of the Indian Ocean that lies between Africa and Southwest Asia?
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

Red Sea

Explanation:

The Red Sea is the outlet of the Indian Ocean that lies between the northeastern part of Africa and Southwest Asia. This sea is one of the two northernmost points of the Indian Ocean along side the Persian Gulf. The Red Sea is a long be very narrow sea, having a northwest-southeastern direction. The sea is known for two things, having the warmest waters, and having the highest salinity. Both of those things are connected. The high temperature of the water is because the sea is surrounded by two of the biggest deserts in the world, the Sahara desert on the west, and the Arabian desert on the east. Both of them are very dry and very hot, so the sea trapped between them has very warm water as well. Because the temperature is high, the evaporation is very high as well, leading to higher concentrations of salt in the water, thus making it a very saline sea.

What happens to the density of the layers as you move from the crust to the inner core? Which layer is the densest?
Flauer [41]
The layers will be denser as you move from the crust to the inner core.

The density are as the following:

crust (2.55 g/cm³)
upper mantle (3.9 g/cm³)
lower mantle (5 g/cm³)
outer core (11.05 g/cm³)
inner core (12.95 g/cm³)

Thus we can also see that the inner core is the densest layer.

Hope it helps!

The combination of the weathering and erosion of the stream bank and the cutting into the bedrock from the velocity of the strea
NikAS [45]

The combination of the weathering and erosion of the stream bank and the cutting into the bedrock from the velocity of the stream combine to make a "stream valley".

What is stream valley?

A stream valley is an earthen dip where water is present at its lowest point. These valleys are the result of erosion, which is the transfer of decomposed rock or soil from one location to another.

The formation of stream valley is given below-

 • The typically V-shaped stream valley is changed to a U-shaped valley because the U-shape offers the flowing glacier the least amount of frictional resistance.
 • Because a glacier's cross section and viscosity are substantially greater than those of a river, its route has fewer and wider bends.

New oceanic lithosphere is formed at ________. a) divergent boundaries by submarine eruptions and intrusions of basaltic magma b
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

a) divergent boundaries by submarine eruptions and intrusions of basaltic magma

Explanation:

Divergent boundary is where tectonic plate move apart from each other. Divergent boundary is mostly prevalent in the oceanic crust. The opposing plate tends to move apart from each other.

On the oceanic crust plates move apart from each other causing an upwelling of magma from the aesthenosphere. This magmatic material is introduced through the oceanic ridges. As the magma are introduce the opposing plates separates further . The basaltic magma introduced through the oceanic ridges forms the new oceanic crust. As we move away from the oceanic ridge the rocks gets older . The oceanic ridge where the basaltic magma erupt depict the youngest rocks.
