A good way to think of division is repeated subtraction. So we could rephrase this question as, "How many times can we take away 6 from 24". If we do this out we get:
24 - 6 - 6 - 6 - 6
24 - 24 = 0
This means we can "take" 6 four times from 24 before we have nothing left.
