Answer:

I was running out of time. They’d said they’d give me until sundown, and that was only a few hours away. I had to get the money. I thought they'd forgot about it. It was years ago! I hated my brother anyways. Why couldn't I just let him die? Instead, I had to take money from the mafia. And now it's finally coming back to bite me in the-WAIT! I could run away...maybe start a potato farm in...Maine? No that'd never work. I'm going to have to figure out how to get this stupid money. Where do I get 50 grand in...5 hours?! Alright, I'm going to have to steal it. It's either rob a bank and possibly not die or be brutally beaten and murdered. I know which path I'd take.

Alona [7]
The correct answers are:
B. He is a balding, middle-aged man who has many regrets.
D. He leads an uneventful life because he is afraid to take risks.

J. Alfred Prufock is a sad little man who is stuck in a rut - each day, he does the same things, and is never adventurous. He does want to change that - he wants to ask a woman to marry him, however decides against it because he is afraid of her rejecting him.
