Answer:

I was running out of time. They’d said they’d give me until sundown, and that was only a few hours away. I had to get the money. I thought they'd forgot about it. It was years ago! I hated my brother anyways. Why couldn't I just let him die? Instead, I had to take money from the mafia. And now it's finally coming back to bite me in the-WAIT! I could run away...maybe start a potato farm in...Maine? No that'd never work. I'm going to have to figure out how to get this stupid money. Where do I get 50 grand in...5 hours?! Alright, I'm going to have to steal it. It's either rob a bank and possibly not die or be brutally beaten and murdered. I know which path I'd take.

Expansion of idea, all that glitters is not gold(or any one)
nevsk [136]

Answer:

Explanation:

The idea “all that glitters is not gold” was made common by William Shakespeare. The expression comes from the idea that gold is one of the most valuable materials in the world, and that we can recognize it by its shine. Yet, we have to be careful as not everything that glitters and shines will be made of gold. Therefore, the saying tries to warn us that not everything that looks good will turn out to be precious at the end and that we can easily be tricked into thinking something is worth more than it actually is. The first sight of something will not determine its full value.
