How did the Magdalene societies work to abolish prostitution?
nordsb [41]

The Magdalen Society of Philadelphia was a private charitable organization founded in 1800 to redeem prostitutes and other "fallen" women. This was the first association in the United States that sought to rescue and reform wayward women. A number of local clergymen and citizens affiliated with Quaker, Episcopal and Presbyterian denominations met to form the Society. Bishop William White, the nation's highest-ranking Episcopal bishop, was the first president of the Society, which officially incorporated in 1802. The organization was based on Magdalen hospitals in England and Ireland, which were named for Mary Magdalene. Similarly designated groups were soon started in other American cities in the early 19th century.

How are electors for the Electoral College determined in each state?
densk [106]

As it now operates: Each State is allocated a number of Electors equal to the number of its U.S. Senators (always 2) plus the number of its U.S. Representatives (which may change each decade according to the size of each State's population as determined in the Census).

Which of the following events would most likely take place in an epic? A.The hero is briefly trapped by an enchantress B.The her
Scrat [10]
Well, an epic is a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating and adventures of a heroic figure (like Hercules, Beowulf) when you think of an epic just try to remember myths and legends. And with that, I do not think D or C are the answer just due to epics aren't making fun of their culture and the pov (point of view) doesn't change during an epic or story for that matter it gets confusing. Also with answer, A, not every epic has an enchantress so I believe B is the correct answer.
