The length of a rectangle is 10 yd less than three times the width, and the area of the rectangle is 77 yd^2. Find the dimension
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

W=7 and L=11

Step-by-step explanation:

We have two unknowns so we must create two equations.

First the problem states that  length of a rectangle is 10 yd less than three times the width so: L= 3w-10

Next we are given the area so: L X W = 77

Then solve for the variable algebraically. It is just a system of equations.

3W^2 - 10W - 77 = 0

(3W + 11)(W - 7) = 0

W = -11/3 and/or W=7

Discard the negative solution as the width of the rectangle cannot be less then 0.

So W=7

Plug that into the first equation.

3(7)-10= 11 so L=11

One serving of soybeans contains 14 grams of protein and 8 grams of fat. One serving of rice contains 4 grams of protein and 1/2
mina [271]

Answer: 1.8 servings of soybean and 1.2 servings rice will be needed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of soybeans and y be the number of rice.

Then , According to the question , we have

14x+4y=30\\\Rightarrow\ 7x+2y=15..................................(1)\\\\ 8x+\frac{1}{2}y = 15\\\Rightarrow\ 16x+y=30.............................(2)

Multiply 2 on both the sides of equation (2), we get

32x+2y=60................................(3)

Subtract equation (2) from equation (3), we get

25x=45\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=1.8

Put x = 1.8 in equation (2), we get

16x+y=30\\\\\Rightarrow\ y=30-16x\\=30-16(1.8)=1.2

Hence, 1.8 servings of soybean and 1.2 servings rice will be needed.

WHOEVER ANSWERS CORRECTLY AND FAST GETS BRAINLIEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hammer [34]

Answer:

r = 32,546.69 * 1.03^t

Step-by-step explanation:

33,523.09/32,546.69 = 1.03

34,528.78/33,523.09 = 1.03

35,564.65/34,528.78 = 1.03

The common ratio between values is 1.03.

The initial value is 32,546.69

The is exponential growth with initial value 32,546.69 and a growth factor of 1.03.

Equation:

y = a(1 + i)^t

r = 32,546.69 * 1.03^t
